今回のイディアムはA picture is worth 1000 words
A picture is worth 1000 words meaning Better to show than tell.
一枚の絵は一千語に匹敵する
例えば、こんな時に使えます。
①It would be better if you drew out a map with the direction to the place rather than
just telling me. A picture is worth a thousand words.
②A good presentation should contain more of graphics and less of text,
since a picture is worth a thousand words.
海外旅行に行くときも言葉が通じなくても、行きたい場所の地図や写真を見せるとすぐに理解して説明
してくれるので、百聞は一見に如かずということわざの通りですね。
